Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Coordinator for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the coordinator oversees the implementation of multiple research studies relating to the mental health and substance use of New Jersey residents. These studies focus on the treatment needs of individuals with substance use disorders and are conducted in substance abuse treatment settings. The position involves assisting in overseeing study protocols, analyzing study data, and preparing final reports for the funding agency. Among the key duties are the following: Coordinates and administers protocols for conducting a series of multiple research studies relating to chronic pain, mental health, and the use/misuse of drugs. Interacts with study participants and coordinates or implements study interventions. Assists in the preparation of study reports to funding agencies. Oversees the collection of data, data entry and the development of data files. Oversees the work of research assistants and student assistants. Oversees the development of computerized surveys in REDCap. Ensures timely responses to study inquiries.
Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years of experience in similar activities in scientific research, or a Master99s Degree plus two (2) years of experience as indicated. Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements. Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite required.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in data management and statistical analysis. Expertise in survey development and management using REDCap. Expertise in study participant tracking programs. Experience working with people with substance abuse and mental health disorders.
Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking, or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: Office environment and Substance Abuse Treatment settings. Moderate noise.
