Synchrony Role Summary/Purpose: We are seeking a skilled AWS Automation Engineer to join our compute engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated AWS cloud infrastructure and associated DevOps pipelines. The ideal candidate will have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, CI/CD processes, and deep knowledge of AWS services. Essential Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Develop and manage automation scripts and tools to support cloud infrastructure lifecycle management, deployments, and monitoring (Javascript/Python). Automate application provisioning, configuration, and deployments using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github, Cloudbees). Collaborate with development and operations teams to define requirements and implement cloud-native solutions. Maintain and improve existing automation frameworks and documentation. Ensure compliance with security policies, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements
3+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.) Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Javascript, PowerShell). Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes a plus). Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions in AWS. Strong problem solving and communication skills. Desired Characteristics
AWS Certifications (DevOps Engineer). Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, etc.). Familiarity with microservices architecture. Exposure to Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams. Salary : The salary range for this position is
85,000.00 - 140,000.00
USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
