Location: Hartford, CT Salary: $62,884 - $80,273 annually Job Type: Open to the Public Close Date: 9/15/2025 11:59:00 PM The Consumer Protection Gaming Regulation Officer position performs analytical and monitoring duties related to the regulation of casino, lottery, retail, and online gaming and works with the gaming industry licensees to ensure they follow agency policy, procedures, and security regulations and provides information and assistance to licensees, the public, and employees. Conduct and review criminal history checks of new licensee applicants for all legalized gaming activities in the state. Assist in the review and evaluation of standard operating management procedures and audit reports, testing slot machine software integrity and monitoring revenue collection. Monitor and evaluate information from all regulated industries including physical casinos, lottery studios and retailers, off track betting facilities and digital applications, sports wagering retailers, online operators, and/or the public for patterns of unusual betting, questionable transactions, or suspicious activities and prepare reports for legal and administrative review. Review and evaluate the terms and conditions of promotions received from gaming entities related to online gaming and retail sports betting to ensure promotions do not adversely impact the integrity of gaming. The mission of Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is to promote a fair and equitable marketplace and to ensure safe products and services for consumers. The department is comprised of several divisions, each of which oversees the different industries that it regulates. The Gaming Division is responsible for regulating legal gambling programs in Connecticut which is comprised of casinos, lottery, off-track betting (OTB), sports wager & online sports wagering, online casino gaming and fantasy contests. This is accomplished through a rigorous program of game and system approvals, licensing, inspections, monitoring, audits, and investigations which are conducted to best safeguard consumer interest and integrity of the gaming process.
