Senior Network Engineer

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US. No sponsorship available. Base pay range
$110,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities Network Architecture & Operations Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, Meraki APs, and AWS networking. Configure and manage firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) to ensure secure access control, VPN, and threat prevention. Oversee and optimize routing, switching, and VLAN segmentation in both on-prem and cloud environments. Implement and maintain AWS networking services, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, and Security Groups.
Security & Compliance
Define and enforce network security policies, including firewall rules, intrusion detection/prevention, and network segmentation. Monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements. Implement Zero Trust networking principles across on-site and cloud environments.
Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot latency, congestion, and security issues using network analysis tools. Optimize BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols for high availability and redundancy. Perform packet captures, flow analysis, and deep-dive troubleshooting across hybrid cloud and on-prem networks. Implement network automation using Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation for repeatable deployments. Ensure seamless hybrid cloud connectivity between AWS and on-site data centers. Optimize AWS cost management by efficiently managing data transfer and networking resources. Create and maintain network topology diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures. Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and IT teams to align networking strategies with business needs. Lead or participate in network migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure (including Cisco and Meraki solutions). Strong hands-on experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) and implementing network security policies, including VPN and Zero Trust principles. Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLAN segmentation, and hybrid cloud architectures. Proficiency in AWS networking services (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, VPNs, Security Groups) and cloud cost optimization strategies. Experience with network monitoring, performance tuning, and advanced troubleshooting using packet capture and flow analysis tools. Practical knowledge of network automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation. Strong documentation skills and experience collaborating across DevOps, Security, and IT teams. Familiarity with compliance standards and proactive response to security incidents and vulnerabilities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work onsite in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, AWS Networking Specialty, or equivalent experience preferred.
