We hire for GRIT the intersection of passion and perseverance toward long-term goals and expect colleagues to set goals, achieve results, contribute innovative ideas, and positively influence the team through collaboration. Responsibilities Design and build new product features across the stack using React/Next.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, and Ruby on Rails. Support and extend backend systems that manage slideshow conversion pipelines and processing of user uploads. Contribute to operational excellence by writing and maintaining job workers, queues, and internal APIs. Implement UI components aligned with the Slideshare rebrand, contributing to a shared design system and theming infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional backend engineers to build integrated, full-stack solutions when needed, with a focus on frontend technologies. Partner with product, design, AI/ML, and growth teams to launch experiments and new features. Integrate ML models and LLMs into the frontend for personalized, intelligent experiences. Contribute to internal documentation and onboarding tools, including component Storybooks and service readmes.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React. 3-5 years of experience across the stack, with React, Next.js, and Ruby on Rails. Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL). Understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with performance, accessibility, and SEO principles. Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with design, product, and other engineering teams. Commitment to code quality, maintainability, and documentation.

Salary, Benefits, and Location

We consider base pay as part of total compensation. Salary ranges vary by geographic location and level. California: $119,000 to $185,500. United States (outside CA): $98,000 to $176,500. Canada: $124,500 CAD to $165,000 CAD. The position is eligible for equity and a comprehensive benefits package. Working At Scribd
