Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

If you are looking to join a dynamic mid-sized public accounting firm, our Locust Point/McHenry Row location is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with internal accounting operations. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering comprehensive benefits, including free parking.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger and accounts receivable.
Manage accounts receivable, including:
Processing client payments, including direct payments, portal payments, and check payments
Assisting clients with payment-related inquiries
Applying client payments properly in the firm client database software
Tracking failed client payments & notifying partners
Recording of daily receipts on internal dashboards
Ensuring all receipts are properly entered in the bank reconciliation module in the accounting software
Perform bank account reconciliation each month-end
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations each month-end, including preparation of journal entries for review by the Controller for monthly posting
Assist with month-end and fiscal & calendar year-end closing schedules and processes
Maintain firm fixed asset listings within fixed asset software, including additions & disposals; generation of fixed asset reports required for tax filings and year-end processes
Prepare special financial reports or schedules upon the Controller's request
Effectively communicate with clients and other team members, including the Controller and partners, to ensure efficient operation
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Maintain bi-weekly payroll change tracking schedule
Cross-train and serve as backup for Accounts Payable processing
Identify opportunities to improve internal accounting processes and procedures
Assist with the preparation of the year-end compiled financial statements and related schedules
