ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse inventory accuracy, conducting audits, and ensuring accuracy in inventory records. This role supervises a team of three inventory control staff to resolve discrepancies and optimize inventory control procedures to meet operational and customer needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Inventory Control Management
Direct and oversee all aspects of inventory control operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with organizational standards. Monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and perform periodic audits to validate data integrity within the inventory management system. Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, production, logistics, and warehouse teams to align inventory with organizational needs and customer demands. Analyze inventory trends, variances, and performance indicators, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for senior leadership. Identify, recommend, and implement system enhancements, process improvements, and automation opportunities to strengthen inventory control practices. Analyze product movement data in multi-building environment and recommend improved inventory layout strategies
Compliance and Recordkeeping
Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices designed to minimize discrepancies and optimize stock management. Ensure compliance with safety programs, workplace sanitation standards, and company policies Cross-check received and shipped item quantities against shipping orders, notifying staff of discrepancies Maintain accurate records of inventory using scanners and manual checklists
Supervision
Lead a team of three inventory coordinators Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate inventory control staff Assign and prioritize duties and projects for subordinates Provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as needed, following company policies Promote and enforce safe work practices
FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: •Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Food's food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. •Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Foods food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. •In the absence of Maintenance Supervisor, serves as back up to ensure all food safety, quality objectives and SQF system requirements are met.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: Experience: 2-3 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse environment along with 1 year supervisory experience Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, ERP software, and warehouse operations Experience within the food and beverage industry a plus SKILLS:
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive actionable insights and strategic decisions. Proficient in creating, monitoring, and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, cost savings, and process efficiency. Possesses strong communication skills and can explain complex concepts at all levels of the organization. Forms good judgement when evaluating situations and reacting accordingly. Acts in a proactive manner to communicate and solve problems. Demonstrates good working knowledge of product numbers and product usage and understand applications for use. Ability to identify positive financial outcomes to increase profitability. Must be able to understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required. Works with all teams to maintain effective relationships Work closely with Thrive Freeze Dry food safety team to ensure the highest level of Food Safety at our suppliers and internally as outlined in the company's Food Safety Policy and Procedure efforts.
