Senior Network Engineer . The Senior Network Engineer will be part of a Global Network Engineering team that delivers networking solutions for Koch Industries. The role focuses on Operational Excellence in Transport Hub, Load Balancer, and Routing & Switching areas. The engineer will report to the Network Engineering Supervisor of KT and will be part of a global team, primarily responsible for the Data Center (Core routing) and contributing to building an efficient DC network to support Cisco Engineering and Business functions. We aim to drive growth in our data center network infrastructure while investing in new technologies to meet client requirements. Location : We are open to candidates based in Wichita, KS, Atlanta, GA, or Dallas, TX. This is an onsite role with hybrid flexibility as needed. This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship. What You Will Do Work in a large-scale networking environment under minimal supervision performing tasks per predefined documented procedures. Establish networking environment by crafting network configuration, advising and executing DC network infrastructure, defining, detailing, and enforcing standards. Ensure assigned network engineering projects are delivered on time, on budget against agreed scope. Design plans and lead initiatives for the optimization and restructuring of the data center and network connections. Be responsible for end-to-end quality delivery of assigned network projects, ensuring adherence to Network engineering standards and proper handover to the Operations team. Produce methods of procedures that demonstrate understanding of changes proposed and how the change will be executed with minimal service impact. Identify End of Life/End of Support network devices in the Data Center and propose appropriate replacement devices by preparing Bill of Materials. Demonstrable and strong working experience in a data center or telecommunication field. Work with Cisco TAC or other 3rd party vendors for escalation as needed. Interface with customers to resolve issues, communicate resolution status, and deliver high quality solutions. Identify process gaps or areas for improvement in delivery efficiencies and recommend/implement solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business unit leadership in developing project objectives and timelines. Engage in opportunities to expand on existing skillset to increase knowledge and reduce learning curves. Experience in provisioning and activating data center network circuits and working with providers to resolve issues.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
8+ years of relevant industry experience in Data Center Core Enterprise routing Expertise in solution design Practical experience in end-to-end management and execution of network project infrastructure deployment Involvement in Transport Hub, LAN, WAN, and Cloud Connectivity such as AWS Direct Connect Experience with agile methodologies Experience using automation tools Understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP and Ethernet Knowledge in managing a multi-vendor WAN, multi-protocol routing, including CISCO IOS, BGP, OSPF and MPLS QoS Knowledge in F5 Load-balancer Experience with VRF based Routing, Inter VRF communication in Enterprise setup (LAN and WAN) Knowledge of Nexus and familiarity with the Cisco product line Experience leading or contributing to a complex enterprise Network Project
What Will Put You Ahead
CCNP or CCIE certifications Cloud experience (VPC, VPN, AWS) Experience working with complex enterprise WAN environments, including the following topologies and protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPSec
