The Application Engineer-Aftermarket is a subject matter expert in machine capabilities, processes, and performance requirements. Technically aids the global sales force, customers, and potential customers to grow parts and service sales with customers. Helps develop other resources within the Aftermarket Services team, and helps lead growth, execution, and customer satisfaction plans. As our Service Aftermarket Engineer, you will report to the Manager Engineering-Customer Care Sales. On a Given Day, You May Help prepare complex parts and service proposals without the management of the Technical Services Manager, other Aftermarket Support Engineers, or Aftermarket Sales personnel.

Responsibilities

Create new part numbers in JDE for legacy items not transferred from Syteline or for part numbers that exist in other JBT ERPs (ICS and/or SNK). Assist sales and customers with technical questions that may require research and consultation. Manage customers with warranty or performance issues post-equipment installation or post-retrofit, including site visits for troubleshooting, expediting parts, coordinating additional Service technician visits, and managing customer expectations during the prove-out period. Manage all assigned major parts projects from inquiry to shipment, and through installation/start-up on special occasions. Develop and manage department procedures required to ensure parts and service margin performance within department sales goals. Assist sales and customers with technical questions requiring research and consultation. Follow up with important customers on critical parts and service orders and shipments. Report potential sales activity from customer follow-ups or customers' reasons for not pursuing purchase. Work multiple shifts to support international customers, and after-hours emergencies. Assist Sales with gathering technical/product information in preparation for presentations and conduct technical presentations for sales calls with Aftermarket Sales or solo. Gather and send product literature to sales force or directly to customers. Prepare technical support information such as feature/benefit summaries, utility calculations, solution and competitor comparisons, and economic analysis.

Qualifications

5 years experience in the Food or related industry or build-to-order in related machine or system design. Bachelor's in Engineering or Industrial Technology. You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Travel & Location

Travel 60% in the first 6 months; approximately 30% after that. Hybrid work arrangement.
