Overview
The
DevOps Engineer
works with a project team to deliver all the infrastructure and its supporting elements in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the best project outcomes. The DevOps Engineer collaborates with Architects and customers to identify the required details for implementation, and partners with Subject Matter Experts across infrastructure teams at Bank of America (Middleware, DBAs, SAs, Network, Load Balancing, Storage, Access Management, etc.) to ensure successful builds. Strong interpersonal and technical skills are required, as is the desire and ability to continuously learn. This role is responsible for configuring complex software delivery automation and ensuring deployments meet access, ownership, and authentication standards. The role may modify code for software deployment automation and ensures software promotion pipelines for complex/high availability applications follow Continuous Delivery best practices. The role requires integrating development, testing practices, software delivery tools, and runtime application standards at the bank. Responsibilities
Configures and maintains the set of tools and services that provide Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) services and validates access control mechanisms for the Software and Infrastructure Engineering team throughout the software development lifecycle Reviews the configuration of application servers to confirm CI/CD service platform onboarding prerequisites are available and configured properly Monitors and responds to alerts based on KPIs for the CI/CD services and escalated events, creating issues and action-plan summaries for stakeholders Mentors and clarifies issues and practices for DevOps Engineers Collaborates with Infrastructure, Solutions Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers to understand changes in CI/CD service platform components and monitoring/alerting capabilities Addresses risk or audit identified issues with access control in line with separation of duties and release management standards Executes change tickets for CI/CD service onboarding and decommissioning using approved change management processes Primary Skills
Terraform Amazon Web Services (AWS) Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience 5+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform and AWS Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience with Terraform Enterprise or Terraform Cloud Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles Experience with Git and version control workflows Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) Understanding of container technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS) Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions Strong Excel and Visio skills Scripting ability in Bash, Python, or similar languages Experience with secrets management and infrastructure security Understanding of networking concepts on AWS Experience with configuration management tools Understanding of software development lifecycle Ability to design architectural solutions for complex technology problems using available and emerging technologies Ability to work with various departments in a large organization to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan Desired Experience
