SBA Specialist, SBA Lending Assistant, SBA Underwriter, Jr. SBA BDO. If you have previous experience in any of these roles you would be a good fit for this position. A JR. SBA BDO (Small Business Administration Business Development Officer)is responsible for generating and managing SBA loan opportunities for small businesses. This role involves building relationships with potential borrowers, analyzing loan requests, and guiding them through the SBA loan application process. A key aspect is also working with internal teams to ensure smooth loan origination and closing. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the typical responsibilities: Core Responsibilities Business Development Identifying and prospecting new SBA loan opportunities through various channels, including networking, referrals, and marketing efforts. Building and maintaining relationships with referral sources such as commercial real estate brokers, business brokers, and other professionals. Conducting outreach to potential borrowers to understand their financing needs and assess their eligibility for SBA loans. Developing and implementing business development strategies to meet loan volume goals.
Loan Origination
Analyzing financial statements, business plans, and other relevant documentation to determine loan viability and risk. Structuring loan proposals to meet both the borrower's needs and the bank's lending criteria. Preparing loan packages for submission to the SBA and internal credit review teams. Working with borrowers to gather necessary documentation and ensure a smooth loan application process.
Relationship Management
Serving as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle. Providing guidance and support to borrowers regarding SBA programs and requirements. Maintaining communication with borrowers and internal teams to ensure efficient loan processing and closing.
Compliance and Reporting
Staying up-to-date on SBA regulations, policies, and procedures. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations throughout the loan process. Tracking and reporting on loan production and other key performance indicators.
