GEI is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join a talented, highly motivated geotechnical team supporting our Atlanta, GA, St. Louis, MO, Raleigh and Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX or Knoxville, TN offices, and growing regional practice. The successful candidate will oversee site-civil and geo-environmental projects related to site development, heavy industry, and solid waste management associated with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR). The candidate will also provide technical guidance, subject matter expertise, and multidisciplinary oversight to proposal and project teams, train/mentor junior staff, and provide innovative problem-solving leadership. Candidate is desirable to have subject matter expertise in one or more specific areas of remedial action engineering (e.g., site remediation optimization/exit strategy development; Power Plant decommissioning/demolition/decontamination; and Coal Combustion Residuals). Essential Responsibilities & Duties

Manage project teams in developing and executing technical approaches to problem-solving, specifically as related to preparing design-phase documents, obtaining project permits, and implementing remedial construction. Prepare proposals and statement of qualification packages, project technical reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions. Manage and develop CCR closure and groundwater remedial alternatives assessments and cost analyses, remedial action work plans, and construction cost estimates under specific states regulatory programs. Manage and implement pre-design site investigations, design-phase documents (engineering design drawing sets and associated specifications), permitting, and remedial construction. Manages projects performance in the areas of growth, operations, and administration to ensure project achieves company goals. Demonstrates leadership qualities that instill confidence from clients, subconsultants/vendors, and employees. Plans, organizes, and manages the work at the jobsite location to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational expectations and requirements. Provide guidance to team members and monitors their performance, discipline, and attendance as defined by GEI policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams and nationwide company offices and client/project locations. Administer construction-phase engineering support including submittals review, contractor pay requisitions, change order requests, and requests for information. Manage construction field inspection, construction quality assurance, and HASP activities. Understand client needs and support project principals to build and maintain trusted client relationships. Technical leadership for hazardous waste remediation under CERCLA and RCRA programs throughout the project life cycle with focus on exit strategy and remedy implementation and completion. Subject matter expert in one or more specific areas of remedial engineering, geology, or chemistry (e.g., site optimization, critical process analysis, risk, and exposure assessment, HRSC, biological processes, system upgrades and technology advancements, etc.). Demonstration of subject matter expertise for the analysis, design, installation, and operation of treatment strategies for wastes in soil, groundwater, air, sediment, drinking water, and providing engineering and scientific expertise to protect human health and the environment. Provide input and develop written technical reports for delivery to clients, perform quality control review, and maintain deliverables of high quality to meet internal and client requirements. Minimum Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil, Structural, Environmental, Geotechnical Engineering or related field. Professional Engineering or Professional Geologist license preferred. 10+ years progressive experience in Civil, Environmental or Geotechnical engineering with extensive technical background in field of expertise. Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of EPA and various state CCR regulations (TN, AL, GA, VA, and NC). Solid Waste Landfill design and operations experience. Experience working within the utility industry. Experience in determining material strength properties and evaluating stability of CCR basins. Large civil construction and earthwork engineering experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State regulatory and contract knowledge. 5+ years in a project management role and client relationship management role.
