Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal Software Engineer - Web-Based SW Engineer to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is vital in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position, which is on-site with no remote options. Position Overview
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the key part of the Missile Defense System. It is a crucial operational system that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that provides an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. C2BMC acts as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to enhance performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential part of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system. This position supports the C2BMC program in Colorado Springs, CO. It is a mid-level role in configuration management, software, and web development, supporting the Tools Development and Management Lead and the IT teams. The lead oversees responsibilities, including maintaining existing applications and developing user interfaces and tools for internal use on C2BMC. The selected candidate is responsible for understanding documented requirements, implementing solutions, and conducting unit testing of the tools and code. Prior experience with DoD contracts, tools, and web development is highly beneficial. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start Must possess knowledge of web-based software development and user interface design Experience with a framework for developing web applications, such as: Angular or React Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the following platforms and tools is highly desired: PHP Apache and IIS web servers MySQL Oracle JavaScript RHEL Linux Eclipse and/or Java Beans Sphinx ClearQuest Memcached Experience with Relational, Graph, or Document databases Ability to work with the following is highly preferred:
