IT Specialist I, II, Sr Or IT Consultant
This is a hybrid position in Port Gibson, MS. It will be filled as an IT Specialist I, II, Sr or IT Consultant depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Relocation assistance and sponsorship is not provided.
Job Summary/Purpose:
This role provides administrative and technical support for site IT departmental and corporate IT initiatives. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate the regulatory IT programs and manage, coordinate IT projects, coordinate Site work management activities and support the IT Performance Improvement programs and activities. This role is expected to remain knowledgeable of corporate IT initiatives and to assist or lead these initiatives as needed.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supports fleet initiatives and business plan items as assigned. Develops business cases for identified IT Department needs.
- Organizes and facilitates IT Department and vendor communications and meetings. Acts as a point person for applicable site IT programs and communications.
- Monitors IT help desk case throughput and serves as liaison and facilitator between customers and the IT Help Desk.
- Serves as budget coordinator and Contract Manager for IT Department maintenance contracts and material requests.
- Maintains department Corporate Purchasing Card and orders/receives IT supplies for the department. Assists the IT Department and customers in the procurement of IT Services/Software in accordance with fleet procedures.
- Supports Cyber Security initiatives and participates in Cyber Security meetings, assessments, and audits. This role also provides change management for the site regarding Cyber Security regulations and requirements.
- Represents the IT Department in Condition Report screening meetings. Evaluates IT Department condition reports for trends and helps drive department CR correction/closure.
- Participates in and/or reviews periodic assessments, benchmarks and tabletops of the Cyber Security Program. Supports NRC, INPO and other external parties in the audit and inspection of the Cyber Security Program.
- Takes a participatory role in cyber incident response and recovery, the identification of vulnerabilities in the network, and the performance of risk assessments on new and existing computer systems and equipment.
- Collects and uploads monthly IT Department performance indicator data. Participates in apparent cause and root cause analysis reports.
- Provides general IT Department support such as leading small IT projects, serving as department training coordinator, performing department SharePoint maintenance, and administration of assigned programs and systems.
- Assumes an emergency response organization position in addition to cyber security emergency response and is available for rotational 24 hr on-call duty.
Minimum education needed:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or experience equivalent experience
Minimum experience needed:
IT Specialist II: 2+ years of relevant IT experience
IT Specialist Sr: 4+ years of relevant IT experience
IT Consultant: 6+ years of relevant IT experience
Critical Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience in implementing security control policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of the operation of electric power and/or generation systems.
- Knowledge of system hardening, patch management, and configuration management.
- Knowledge of security controls testing, security audits, and security assessments.
- Knowledge of fraud and computer forensics.
- Knowledge and understanding of NIST controls.
