Job Summary

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibrations, overhaul, service, and repair for all levels of refrigeration and air conditioning systems in the facility. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Duties and Responsibilities Reads blueprints, interprets manufacturers' specifications, and written and verbal instructions for the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Performs urgent corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs for refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Performs preventive maintenance on air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems to maintain air at a specified temperature and humidity. Adjusts air intakes, exhausts, dampers, thermostats, and other controls. Inspects and adjusts air conditioning and refrigeration systems after installation. Responsible for inspecting, calibrating, adjusting, lubricating, and repairing or replacing components as necessary. Provides service and repair of all refrigeration and AC systems to ensure optimum operating conditions. Installs and maintains alarm devices of refrigeration systems to alert users of possible system failures. Confers with users to ensure ultra-low units are properly labeled according to content so that precautions for exposure to biohazardous material can be taken. Maintains routine records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed. Maintains records to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Maintains equipment inventory, submits requisitions, and communicates with vendors and contractors as required. Possesses thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment. Knowledgeable of and observes all safety precautions. Performs additional duties as required. Professional Requirements

Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, administration, and staff. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Regulatory Requirements

Two (2) years of technical training in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
