Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Reviews and processes work orders submitted by repair vendors for the maintenance and repair of Norfolk Southern assets and other fleets as required by commercial or industry contract.

Principal Duties:

• Ensures work orders that require approval or purchase orders are reviewed for proper repair, coding, and documentation.

• Issues purchase orders to vendors as required in the intermodal maintenance support system.

• Communicates with equipment owners for repair approvals as required by industry rules and commercial contracts.

• Supports manager with decommissioning of NS assets.

• Coordinates with NS terminals, motor carrier customers, and repair vendors when road service issues require escalation.

• Demonstrates professional and courteous handling of customer inquiries and complaints while adapting and responding to demanding situations including customer dissatisfaction.

• Provides excellent customer service through handling and monitoring of communications to customers through SalesForce.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 1-2 years

Preferred Level: 2-3 years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Majors: None listed

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of chassis and container repair practices, methods, and guidelines

• Terminal operating system (SIMS/OPTCS)

• Intermodal maintenance support system

• MS Word/Word Processing
