Position: Floor Technician
The Floor Technician at
Edenbrook on Second Avenue
is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and care of all floor surfaces throughout the facility. This includes scrubbing, stripping, refinishing floors, and performing carpet care according to the manager's directions. The Floor Technician will also assist with emergency cleaning, equipment maintenance, and additional duties, such as moving furniture and cross-training in housekeeping and laundry. Key Responsibilities:
Scrub floors to remove soil and finish, ensuring cleanliness down to the base of the floor material.
Remove splash marks from baseboards, walls, and doors to maintain a neat appearance.
Properly strip and refinish floors according to the manager's directions, achieving a glossy, deep shine.
Extract and bonnet carpets as needed to maintain their cleanliness.
Assist in cleaning emergency spills when observed or as requested.
Maintain assigned cleaning equipment, reporting any need for repairs to equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
Perform wall-washing tasks as assigned by management.
Move furniture on a non-routine basis when needed or assigned.
Assist during fire drills or emergencies by helping transport residents or directing traffic.
Be cross-trained in housekeeping and laundry duties to fill in as necessary.
Evening Floor Technicians must prepare resident rooms for discharge or admission.
Evening Floor Technicians are responsible for pulling trash twice during their shift.
Qualifications:
Experience in floor care, including scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing floors.
Ability to handle carpet extraction and bonneting.
Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to assist with other cleaning and facility maintenance tasks as needed.
Physical ability to move furniture and perform the physical tasks associated with floor care and cleaning. #INDSAV
