is immediately hiring experienced
Marine Riggers
for projects located in and around
Newport News, VA
. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay range of
up to $27.31/hour
based on experience plus
$140/Per Diem

Job Scope:
Operating cranes and forklifts of various capacities.
Assisting with shipyard tug boat operations, including moving ships between dry docks and piers, and mooring vessels.
Handling and setting ship components ranging from small equipment to large structural pieces.
Calculating weight, center of gravity, lift capacity, and rigging angles to select the correct gear for each job.
Erecting, maintaining, and dismantling scaffolding throughout the shipyard.
Installing and maintaining ventilation equipment onboard ships.
Maintaining and issuing tools used across the shipyard.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 Years of Experience Marine Rigging or Heavy Industrial Experience (Required)
Must be able to work at extreme heights and in confined spaces.
Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
Must pass a respirator fit test.
Must pass a Physical Agility Test.
Ability to work assigned shifts based on production needs.
