The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and controlling RTP production processes for specified areas during off shift. This position must work and promote servicing the customer, operational excellence, product consistency with cost and asset optimization, and safe operations. In collaboration with the Production Managers this position directs the daily responsibilities of Production Leads and Assistant Leads, and is accountable for the supervision, direction, training, and evaluation of all production members of their assigned shift. Supervise and coordinate production activities during the shift to ensure safety, quality, and timely execution of production plans. Set shift priorities based on the weekly and daily production schedule, machine and material availability, workforce capacity, and goals set by Production Managers. Communicate effectively with other departments (e.g., Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Color Lab etc) to ensure smooth operations and quick issue resolution. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed by all team members. Promote a culture of safety, environmental and continuous improvement on the shop floor. Coordinate shift maintenance activities and audit equipment checklists. Monitors production progress, run rates, changeovers, and line cleans and report shift performance, incidents, and deviations from the plan. Supervises shift employees to include coaching and mentoring, performance management and discipline, terminating, and training. Aids plant safety and performance by conducting meetings, communicating expectations, and investigating incidents. Maintain accurate shift documentation and handover reports. Pinpoints and troubleshoots process issues and determines appropriate course of action to resolve these issues. Supervise the proper use and tracking of raw materials and finished goods during the shift. Ensure accurate material handling and minimize waste or losses. Escalate resource needs and operational concerns to the Plant Manager and HR as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Must have strong technical knowledge, be mechanically inclined, and have previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Adept at learning new software; must be able to work in Cimpro system and company programs for HR/Employee, Safety, and Asset management

• Must be committed to safety of the plant and employees.

• Must have excellent team building skills and ability to create accountability while leading by example.

• Must have effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

• Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2-year technical degree preferred or combination of education and related work experience.

• Must have 2+ years of previous leadership experience; must be able to lead a team of individuals.

• Required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time on the production floor as well as sit and look at a computer screen.

• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.

Frequently

• Required to use safety equipment as dictated by the work area. Proper personal safety equipment is to be used while performing this job as pointed out by plant safety equipment procedures.

• Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents.

• Walk and use stairs to move throughout the building.

Occasionally

Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

• Exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.
