Verily's Workbench solution provides a secure collaborative environment for data generators, research, and biopharma organizations to govern and analyze their data.
Workbench incorporates technology and best practices developed through years of building data infrastructure for large research initiatives such as the National Institutes of Health's All of Us Research Program, the Accelerating Medicines Partnership® Parkinson's disease (AMP PD) program, and the Project Baseline Health Study. We are seeking an experienced software engineer to help design and develop the various systems that make up Workbench. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our custom application platform, enhance support for scientific workflow engines like Cromwell and Nextflow, contribute to state-of-the-art data security and exfiltration systems and policies, or build the foundational components of the Workbench platform. With so many critical and evolving areas, you'll be at the forefront of defining how researchers interact with and secure vast amounts of biomedical data, ensuring our platform remains a leading-edge solution.
Responsibilities Work as part of an agile squad on the iterative development of our various systems and UIs. Develop using industry standard tools such as Go, Java, React, Typescript, Docker and Terraform. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
At least 3 years experience as a full-stack or backend software engineer in an industry setting. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with an interest in working in a highly cross-functional team. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Java Spring and/or Golang. Experience with building scalable backend systems and APIs. A solid understanding of the React/Typescript ecosystem is a plus. Passion for providing tools to scientists on the forefront of computational biology & genomics research.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 - $178,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
