The Role

ArtHaus is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations & HR Manager to lead people operations and cross-functional business support across our centralized property management platform. This role is critical to ensuring that ArtHaus delivers a consistent, brand-aligned employee experience that scales with growth. The Operations & HR Manager will oversee HR administration, recruiting coordination, onboarding, training, compliance, and day-to-day operations support across our leasing, maintenance, resident service teams, and accounting teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-driven, and passionate about building scalable systems that support people, performance, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

People Operations

  • Own end-to-end HR administration, including employee onboarding, offboarding, recordkeeping, and performance tracking
  • Partner with hiring managers to coordinate recruitment logistics, interview scheduling, and offer letter execution
  • Manage HRIS data integrity, employee file compliance, and reporting
  • Support the development and rollout of onboarding programs, job descriptions, and training materials aligned to ArtHaus' centralized operating model
  • Maintain and refine policies related to benefits, paid time off, safety, and code of conduct in partnership with legal counsel
  • Lead the development and administration of ArtHaus University, our internal training platform focused on onboarding, continuous learning, compliance education, and role-specific development for Leasing, Maintenance, and Resident Experience teams
  • Create engaging, branded learning modules and cross-functional training paths that align with ArtHaus standards and centralized systems
  • Support culture-building and engagement initiatives across field, centralized, and offshore teams to foster a strong sense of connection and mission

Operations Support

  • Act as a liaison between frontline teams and the VP of Property Operations to ensure execution of SOPs and training protocols
  • Support cross-functional process rollout and policy compliance across leasing, facilities, and resident service departments
  • Maintain team rosters, role scopes, and department org charts; update regularly based on hiring and structural changes
  • Coordinate technology access and systems onboarding for new hires (e.g., Yardi, EliseAI, Gmail, Slack, CRM)
  • Research, evaluate, and help implement business systems that enhance team productivity and operational efficiency, with a focus on automation, AI tools, and integration across platforms
  • Monitor system usage, adoption, and performance; partner with IT and department leads to identify gaps and training needs
  • Assist with internal audits related to HR, facilities compliance, insurance documentation, and vendor onboarding
  • Support preparation of internal communications, process documentation, and operational playbooks

Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws (CA-focused)
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training, employee certifications, and legal acknowledgments
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers and legal to ensure timely completion of incident reporting, claims administration, and OSHA documentation
  • Manage I-9, EEO, and ACA records in accordance with federal regulations
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, Operations, or People Ops, preferably within real estate, property management, or high-growth operating businesses
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor law, HR best practices, and onboarding compliance
  • Experience supporting distributed, hybrid, or field-based teams; property management or facilities experience is a plus
  • Highly organized with strong project management, documentation, and communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with HR systems, time tracking tools, and performance review platforms (e.g., Gusto, BambooHR, Paylocity, ADP, or equivalent)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment with multiple stakeholder groups
  • High level of discretion, empathy, and professionalism

Compensation
  • $110,000 $130,000 cash comp
