West Coast Insulated Glass Products
Overview
The Quality Manager oversees all quality control and assurance activities in West Coast Glasss insulated glass manufacturing process to ensure products meet internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role manages the Quality Management System (QMS), leads inspections and testing, and drives corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve processes. The Quality Manager collaborates effectively across organizational teams to maintain compliance with industry standards while leading and developing the quality team.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, IGCC/IGMA guidelines, and ASTM/ANSI standards.
- Manage the inspection and testing activities from raw materials through all manufacturing stages to finished insulated glass units, ensuring adherence to specifications and performance requirements.
- Drive resolution of product defects, warranty claims, and process deviations through root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC programs aimed at eliminating inefficiencies, improving product quality, and enhancing manufacturing performance.
- Manage and coordinate internal audits and external customer, certification, and regulatory audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and energy efficiency requirements.
- Establish and enforce supplier quality expectations, monitor compliance, and coordinate with relevant internal teams to resolve quality problems.
- Hire, train, mentor, and oversee quality staff, ensuring all employees are skilled in inspection methods, defect prevention, safe glass handling, and compliance requirements.
- Approve and control specifications, inspection procedures, and documentation for product and process changes.
- Monitor and report key quality metrics including defect rates, scrap, rework, warranty issues, and customer complaints and present findings with recommendations to senior management.
- Partner with the appropriate internal teams to integrate safe work practices into all quality processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field.
- 57 years of experience in quality management, preferably in glass manufacturing, building products, or another high-volume industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001 systems and familiarity with ASTM/ANSI/IGMA industry standards for insulated glass.
- Demonstrated experience leading QMS implementation, internal audits, and process improvement projects.
- Demonstrated success implementing root cause analysis, CAPA, and process improvement methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Skilled in supplier quality management and raw material inspection.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings, technical specifications, and using quality analysis tools.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred.
