Junior Facilities Space Planner / Interior Designer

Location: Timonium, MD (Baltimore Market)

Schedule: Onsite, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: $60-65K

PTO: 15 days accrued, with the ability to advance

About the Role:

LHH is conducting a search for a Junior Facilities Space Planner / Interior Designer for our client, a full-service commercial real estate firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, hands-on professional eager to grow in their career, gain exposure to space planning and construction documentation, and collaborate closely with a small, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and revise CAD drawings for landlords, tenants, and brokers; execute basic space planning and construction sets in AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with commercial construction and leasing teams to deliver turn-key spaces.
  • Conduct on-site verification measurements for as-builts and input CAD accordingly.
  • Interface with clients to collect accurate programming information for space plans.
  • Prepare construction documents, including Reflective Ceiling Plans, Construction Plans, Finishes, and Fixture Schedules.
  • Assist with finish selections for tenants and capital projects.
  • Support adherence to standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Sales, QA/QC, Purchasing, Drafting, and Production to support project execution.
  • Maintain and refine QA/QC documentation and procedures.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Design or related field OR 3+ years of facilities space management or directly related experience.
  • 1-2 years of Space Planning/Design experience preferred.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, with strong skills in space planning, design, and tenant selection.
  • Familiarity with basic architectural/interior design principles.
  • Ability to produce basic construction documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Skills:

  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Familiarity with BOMA standards.
  • Knowledge of local vendors.
  • 3D rendering experience.
  • Experience with construction drawing.
  • Confident, collaborative personality.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will have 1+ years of relevant experience in space planning, interior design, or facilities management. Portfolios are strongly recommended to demonstrate skills and design capabilities.
