Position Summary

The Arts Specialist will bring creativity, joy, and inspiration into the classroom by designing and leading Arts experiences for our youngest learners (PreK–3). This role lays the foundation for a growing Arts program, ensuring that SR1 CPSA students develop a love for artistic expression while building skills in communication, collaboration, and innovation.

This position is a full-time or part-time , offering flexibility for outstanding educators who want to help SR1 CPSA become a leader in Arts education while growing with the school.


Key Responsibilities

  • Early Arts Instruction : Teach engaging lessons in visual arts, music, creative movement, and introductory drama to PreK–3 students.
  • Creativity Across the Curriculum : Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate artistic experiences into literacy, numeracy, and STEM.
  • Student Showcases : Organize student art exhibitions, classroom performances, and musical demonstrations for families and the community.
  • Program Growth : Shape the long-term Arts vision for SR1 CPSA as the school expands by one grade each year.
  • Cultural Exposure : Introduce students to a wide variety of art forms, traditions, and cultures.
  • Family & Community Engagement : Build excitement around the Arts by involving parents/guardians and forging community partnerships.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Arts Education, Music, Fine Arts, Early Childhood Education, or related field. Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience teaching or working with early childhood or elementary-aged students.
  • Strong ability to make the Arts accessible and joyful for young learners.
  • A creative, collaborative mindset with a passion for integrating arts across subjects.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
