Job Title: CT Technologist

Experience: 2-3 years
License: Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license
Certifications: ARRT (CT) required
Must-Have:
Level 1 trauma experience
Siemens experience
Description:
Under general supervision and following established procedures, operates CT equipment to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
Staff will be required to float among clinics and divisions as needed.
Operates CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocol.
Ensures the patient is properly prepared, positioned, and uses protective measures as needed.
Selects proper imaging factors and images the designated portions of the body.
Explains exam to patients, considering their physical and emotional needs.
Maintains ethical standards, including patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
Delivers patient care within the scope of license and training.
Maintains effective communication and working relationships with departmental and other personnel.
Calibrates and verifies the operation of all equipment used during the workday.
Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and needed repairs.
Executes paperwork and system functions necessary for each patient exam.
Performs venipuncture for contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist.
Follows all policies and procedures for contrast administration.
Attends staff meetings, in-services, and maintains appropriate continuing education units as required.
Oversees and instructs personnel and technology students within the department.
Prepares the equipment room and supplies necessary for patient care.
Stocks and supplies the room as needed.
Participates in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects.
Assumes responsibilities for on-call coverage and remains flexible in shift coverage.
Rotates within the department and cooperates with all personnel to promote harmony.
Transports and transfers patients using established procedures.
Uses independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative under pressure in various situations when performing patient exams.
Performs all other duties as directed.
Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent.
Must have interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients under stress.
Must possess analytical abilities to utilize knowledge of imaging processes and techniques.
