Radio Access System Performance Engineer
Job Summary We're looking for a Radio Access System Performance Engineer to join our team as a contractor. You'll be a key player in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our wireless network, with a strong emphasis on leveraging automation and AI/ML to drive efficiency and innovation. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a solid understanding of RAN (Radio Access Network) technologies and a passion for data-driven problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive network performance enhancements for 4G LTE and 5G networks. Identify performance degradation and customer experience issues, conducting root cause analysis to resolve them. Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts (primarily in Python) to streamline routine tasks such as data collection, report generation, and network parameter auditing. Implement automated solutions for performance monitoring and troubleshooting. AI/ML Model Development: Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of AI/ML models for network optimization. This includes creating models for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and automated parameter tuning. Data & Analytics: Work with large datasets to analyze network trends, forecast capacity needs, and identify opportunities for optimization. Utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and databases to create dashboards and reports. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including RF engineers, network operations, and data science teams, to implement and validate solutions.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a Radio Access Network (RAN) performance or optimization role.
Technical Skills: RAN Technologies: In-depth knowledge of 4G LTE and 5G NR technologies, including a strong understanding of their architecture, protocols, and performance metrics (e.g., throughput, latency, call success rate).
Automation: Proven experience with automation and scripting languages, with a focus on Python.
Data & AI: Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and data analysis tools.
Experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, or scikit-learn is a plus. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
