Job Summary ONEOK is seeking data-driven problem solvers with a passion for optimization in the oil and gas industry. Our blending team seeks to maximize value for the company by identifying opportunities to optimize and expand our commodity strategies while working with stakeholders throughout the organization to execute those opportunities. The role requires a robust technical skillset that includes understanding of refined products qualities and financial optimization of commodities. Our team focuses on maximizing value of refined products commodities including gasoline, gasoline components, diesel, and other blend stocks across all ONEOK refined products assets. What You'll Do: Develop and refine advanced modeling techniques for blending activities Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to optimize fuel and component properties Utilize data analytics and advanced modeling tools to enhance blending accuracy Drive innovation in fuel formulation and regulatory compliance Provide technical leadership and mentor junior modeler What We're Looking For: Expertise in LP optimization modeling and fuel blending processes Strong background in data science, engineering, or chemistry Experience with optimization algorithms and predictive analytics Ability to communicate complex insights to cross-functional teams Passion for continuous improvement and innovation Job Profile Summary: As the Senior Modeler for component blending, you will be responsible for optimization of ONEOK blending operations, evaluation of blend stocks, product grades, and the associated economics. You will serve as the lead resource for maintaining the LP model utilized for optimizing blending while serving as the senior resource in this space, providing mentorship and coaching to the junior modeler on all technical aspects of optimization. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Research and evaluate existing opportunities to determine profitability and potential liabilities Identify and evaluate refined products blending opportunities and to support strategic business plans Participate in development of large-scale projects to support business strategies Prepare economic models, perform calculations, and conduct analyses to evaluate new or potential optimization opportunities and organic growth projects. Evaluate the information gained from research work to determine its applicability to our business operations and utilize this information to help expand and enhance the use of our optimization software. Research industry publications to evaluate and monitor customers and competitors and explore potential new business development opportunities in our core areas of operations Interact and coordinate with marketing and commercial leadership regarding refined products blending and optimization initiatives Develop, interpret, and/or prepare information and correspondence including but not limited to: Refined Products Qualities Procedures Internal Correspondence Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or job-related experience Experience: Experience with and thorough knowledge of activities related to LP optimization modeling Experience in use and function of LP modeling software including or similar to those offered by Honeywell, Siemens, AspenTech, etc. Experience analyzing data with a strong business acumen Experience researching, analyzing, and resolving issues and/or questions concerning optimization initiatives Experience developing and preparing reports, presentations, procedures, and correspondence applicable to position Experience reading and interpreting reports, correspondence, industry publications, contracts, and computer manuals and printouts Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively Licenses and Certifications: None required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to apply math, algebraic formulas, statistics, and economic models Knowledge of LP modeling software and tools Knowledge of strategic dynamics across multiple business categories Knowledge of energy industry, gasoline qualities, market trends, and competitors Strength Factor Rating - Physical Demands/Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
