The Chicago Marriott Schaumburg is currently hiring a Barback. A Barback, or Bartender Assistant, is responsible for assisting Bartenders to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently. Their duties include replacing kegs, restocking glasses and other supplies needed to make drinks, and maintaining a clean dining space throughout their shift.
Responsibilities
•Regularly restock liquor bottles, beer kegs, ice, garnishes, napkins, straws, and other bar items. •Collect dirty glasses, return them to the dishwasher, and polish clean glasses for service. •Wipe down counters, clean spills, sweep floors, and remove trash. •Setting up the bar at the start of service and breaking it down at the end, including cleaning equipment and restocking. •Helping with drink orders during peak times, prepping ingredients, and delivering food to tables when necessary. •Answering basic customer questions and providing friendly service while the bartenders are busy. •Monitoring stock levels and notifying management when items need to be reordered.
Qualifications
•Prior food service or similar industry experience •Team player mentality •Ability to lift heavy items such as kegs, cases, etc •Customer service friendly personality
