What Were Looking For:
If you are experienced in customs and import compliance and enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment, then you will be excited about the Global Trade Compliance Manager position on our Legal and Compliance team. As the Global Trade Compliance Manager, youll be responsible for actively managing imports for the entire company, while implementing industry best practices and continuous improvements, and effectively managing multiple priorities.
What Youll Do:
Ensure import entry documentation is timely, accurate and complete for all company imports through cross-functional engagement, maintenance of customs broker standard operating procedures (SOPs) and post-entry reviews
Determine U.S. harmonized tariff schedule (HTSUS), Schedule B, and international harmonized schedule classifications where necessary
Determine applicability of Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements to company imports
Be responsible for the companys Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) account and leverage ACE data to support supply chain decision making and internal auditing
Conduct assessments of project requirements to ensure proper customs compliance, and review proposed contract terms as needed to protect company interests
Be accountable for collaborating with other departments, such as supply chain, sales, shipping and product development, to establish and maintain effective and relevant import activities that are required to support business operations
Maintain and enhance Iridiums customs compliance policies and procedures, and develop and conduct related training for key stakeholders
Work with customs brokers and internal departments to support the companys duty drawback claims
Support company efforts to integrate business systems holding product classification data
What Youll Need to Succeed:
Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
8+ years of customs/import experience in defense, satellite, telecommunications, electronics, or a related industry
Operational experience with core customs compliance disciplines, to include classification, valuationincluding related-party transactionscountry of origin, and recordkeeping
Proficiency in tariff classification, including the application of general rules of interpretation, tariff notes, and CBP binding rulings
Strong familiarity with tools, processes and software applications that support customs compliance applications
Customer service-oriented with unquestioned ethics and integrity
Strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and motivation to achieve outcomes and results
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met

The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer.
