Position Overview:
At The Cascade Hotel, Kansas City - a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, we're seeking an energetic and creative Sales Executive who is passionate about group sales and dedicated to delivering service excellence. As our on-property liaison for group sales, you'll be the dynamic force turning every opportunity into an unforgettable event. If you thrive on building relationships, navigating complex sales, and ensuring seamless transitions from sales to service, you'll feel right at home with our vibrant team.
Responsibilities:
Managing Sales Activities: Drive Revenue:
Achieve group revenue goals by promptly responding to incoming group and catering opportunities within our defined peak room parameters. Market Savvy:
Stay ahead of the curve by understanding competitors, economic trends, and market demands-and use that insight to close the best deals. Creative Negotiation:
Use your stellar negotiation and creative selling skills to secure and up-sell deals that maximize every revenue opportunity. Team Collaboration:
Partner with Area Sales to identify and develop new business, ensuring personal and property revenue targets are met. Liaison Excellence:
Act as the on-property liaison for group events, ensuring a seamless turnover to Event Management and exceptional service delivery. Budget & Forecasting:
Develop group sales revenue and operational budgets, providing accurate forecasts to support strategic decisions. Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the management team to craft and implement a group sales/marketing plan that addresses revenue goals, customer engagement, and market expansion. Promotional Support:
Assist with selling, executing, and following through on group sales promotions while actively participating in pre- and post-event meetings to gather feedback. Service Continuity:
Monitor same-day selling procedures and ensure a seamless transition from sales to operations that continuously enhances guest satisfaction. Building Successful Relationships: Customer Engagement:
Forge and nurture lasting relationships with new and existing customers through engaging sales calls, entertaining events, FAM trips, trade shows, and community interactions. Community Connections:
Build strong community ties to expand our customer base and create a pipeline of future group and catering opportunities. Collaborative Efforts:
Work closely with off-property sales channels (including Group Sales within the Sales Office, Area Sales, and EST) to ensure our efforts are aligned and mutually beneficial. Customer Service Excellence:
Partner with Event Management and Operations to deliver exceptional experiences that exceed guest expectations. Tailored Solutions:
Understand each customer's unique needs and recommend the perfect features and services to ensure their event is a resounding success. Brand Ambassadorship:
Embrace and implement the brand's service strategy and initiatives throughout the sales process to drive customer loyalty and build lasting relationships. Candidate Profile:
Required:
Education and Experience: 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management (or related field) with 5 years' experience in sales/marketing; OR a 4-year bachelor's degree with 3 years' relevant experience. Proven track record in handling complex, high-revenue business opportunities. Exceptional negotiating skills, creative selling abilities, and a flair for strategic thinking. A dynamic, results-driven professional with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. A true team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-energy environment. Preferred:
Experience managing complex group sales portfolios in full-service hotels. Expertise with Marriott systems (CI/TY, LightSpeed, Power of M) and multi-property account management Strong market awareness and a creative approach to solving challenges. What We Offer:
