GFT is seeking a

Traffic Engineer

to join our Transportation Team in Florida. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and demonstrated technical excellence in traffic engineering, transportation planning, organization and completion of traffic studies, and concept development of interchange projects for various clients, particularly states and municipalities. This position is with our Southeast (Florida) traffic team. You will write materials, develop plans, present concepts to clients, and communicate clearly. You should have strong leadership, be a team player, and take ownership of your work. Primary project types include signing and pavement marking design, traffic signal and lighting design, maintenance of traffic design, and planning projects related to traffic impact studies, safety analysis, capacity analysis, and travel demand and traffic simulation modeling. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Acts as a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer for assigned tasks, including budget and overall results. Provide team leadership; plan, organize, and supervise the work of engineers and technicians. Develop contractual basis for projects. Serve as a technical specialist in advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area of responsibility. Responsible for client satisfaction. Assist with and oversee field work for traffic data collection (e.g., counts, spot speed studies, sight distance measurements, delay studies, gap studies). Oversee and prepare plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates for traffic engineering design (signing, pavement markings, signals, ITS, lighting, work zones, etc.). Oversee traffic safety studies, traffic impact studies, and planning studies. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies (in person or virtually). Education & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or eligible to obtain licensure within six months. 5 to 15 years of experience in Traffic Engineering. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO Green Book, Highway Capacity Manual, ITE Trip Generation Manual. Knowledge of design software such as MicroStation or OpenRoads; capacity analysis software such as Synchro and VISSIM. Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills; commitment to inclusion and equity in the workplace. What You Will Bring

PTOE certification preferred. Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). Compensation

The salary range for this role is

$93,000-$117,000 , dependent upon experience and geographic location. Benefits & Work Environment
