Cath Lab/IR Tech - Special Procedures Technician
who excels in this role: Implement, recommend, delegate, and coordinate special procedure care to a group of patients. Prepare special procedures lab and sterile table for various procedures. Practice sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination. Check emergency equipment each day. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining inventory in a cost-effective manner. Put all exams in "Taken" status immediately after completion of exam. Check ancillary audit trail daily to assure all charges are correct. Position and prep patient for procedures. Assures all consents, H&P are available prior to procedure. Monitors patient condition during procedure by observation, EKG, and blood pressure via physiological monitor. Coordinates patient monitoring with procedure nurse. Position equipment according to physician instructions. Analyze and interpret data for physician instructions. Be able to route images to PACS and burn CD's as necessary. Assures terminal cleaning of special procedures room as been completed by Environmental Services when procedure is completed. Explain procedures to patients and family to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Checks patients' chart to confirm order and checks armband and two patient identifiers-name and birthdate. What we're looking for Applicants should have an associate degree of a program in disciple. Additional requirements include: Basic Life Support certification required.
ACLS required. BLS is not required if employee has ACLS.
One (1) year of experience in radiology in healthcare setting preferred.
ARRT (R) required upon hire.
AZ Medical Radiology License required upon hire (original AZ license must be at facility to begin employment).
