Summary:
West Union Bank, Salem location, is seeking a full-time Branch Manager. Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience. Three years of previous management/supervisory experience in a financial institution preferred. Two to five years of previous lending experience preferred. Candidate must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including motivating, developing, and directing people by example. This position will foster positive relationships and participate in community events to promote and cross-sell products. Candidate must have a strong work ethic and enjoy working with the public and with others. Candidate must also possess the ability to maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer business confidential and the ability to work shift work as needed, including Saturdays.
Description of duties:
Lead and direct daily branch office operations, including community relationship-building efforts and building lending relationships. Plan, organize, supervise and motivate employee engagement to grow customer relationships, increase branch profitability and achieve customer satisfaction. Create a positive work environment that motivates, supports, and recognizes exceptional performance. Provide quality customer service by promoting bank products, deepen customer relationships and attract new customers with both loan and deposit products. Manage daily branch operations, including supervising, coaching, training, evaluating and scheduling teller and new account operations and customer service. Originates and approves consumer and retail loans. Assist in marketing and cross-selling bank products, which may entail writing letters to previous loan customers with satisfactory loan histories, calling or visiting perspective loan customers, discussing the bank's lending programs with persons at community functions and any other process management believes would be effective in marketing the bank's loan products. Well versed in bank's products & attempts to ask each customer to open another loan or deposit account with the bank. Ensures adherence to bank policies and procedures, including the Loan Policy and procedures, as well as compliance with deposit and lending regulations, procedures, practices, documentation requirements and loan pricing. Ensure the structure of the loan meets customer needs & the bank's desire to originate loans under sound and safe lending practices. This includes proper loan interest rates that reflect the risk of each loan, payment amount and terms that meet the customers ability to repay, collateral that fully secures the amount financed with proper margins. Meet branch sales goals set forth by senior management. Participate in community activities to promote the bank's image and growth. Other duties as assigned to understand and assist in branch operations. Skills necessary for performance of duties:
Strong leadership skills, including motivating, developing, and directing people by example. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and deal with employee and customer conflicts, as well as the ability to comprehend what you are reading and communicate in written form. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently. The ability to handle security issues and to understand security equipment, and to provide a clean and safe environment for employees and customers. The ability to train others and teach them necessary skills, both related to banking and interpersonal. Knowledge of lending policy provided by West Union Bank and Government Regulations. Maintains knowledge of bank policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State laws. Ability to multi-task. Must be able to withstand pressure. Teller operations:
Operate a teller window, including teller capture. Balance daily branch cash totals, correct errors, research for errors. Able to handle large dollar transactions. Order cash supply for branch. ATM operations, loading cash, balancing. Basic knowledge of New Accounts, IRAs, Certificate of deposits, Safe Deposit boxes. Quarterly branch reports required by law, regulations, and the Board of Directors Monthly teller audits. Vault audits. Money Wires. Experience and Education:
