Conference Center Technology & Av Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Conference Center Technology & AV Engineer to manage the daily operations, maintenance, and support of a large, configurable conference center with multiple meeting rooms. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all audiovisual systems, including Cisco Webex video conferencing, sound, projection, and presentation systems, are fully functional and optimized for both in-person and hybrid meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AV integration, networked collaboration tools, and live event support, along with excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to partner closely with internal teams, executives, and external vendors. Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations & Support Manage, operate, and maintain all AV and conferencing technology for a multi-room, configurable conference center. Configure Cisco Webex Room Kits, codecs, and integrated systems for hybrid meetings. Oversee and troubleshoot video conferencing, projection, microphone, and sound systems to ensure uninterrupted events. Perform regular preventative maintenance on AV and networking equipment to maximize uptime. Event & Meeting Management Provide live technical support for high-profile meetings, executive briefings, and corporate events. Collaborate with event planners and meeting organizers to configure rooms and technology setups. Adjust audio, video, lighting, and display settings for optimal viewing and sound quality. Serve as the primary on-site contact for any technical issues during events. System Administration & Upgrades Work with IT teams to ensure AV systems integrate seamlessly with the corporate network. Monitor system performance and apply firmware updates, security patches, and configuration changes. Including developing reports and metrics on system usage. Recommend and coordinate upgrades to keep technology current and aligned with business needs. Vendor & Inventory Management Manage vendor relationships for service calls, equipment repairs, and technology enhancements. Maintain accurate inventory of AV equipment, cabling, and spares. Track equipment lifecycle and budget for replacements and improvements. Additional Support In addition to supporting the DSM Conference center this individual will be assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of the enterprise meeting system. In down time this individual will be called on to support Teams Calling and the maintenance of that system as well. Requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience managing AV systems in a corporate or conference center environment. Experience with Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or other conferencing platforms. Proficiency in Cisco Webex Room Devices, control systems (Crestron/AMX/Extron), and AV-over-IP solutions. Strong knowledge of audio mixing, microphone arrays, projectors, large-format displays, and digital signage. Experience supporting live events and providing in-room technical assistance. Solid understanding of networking basics for AV integration (VLANs, QoS, IP addressing). Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
