Overview

Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs seeks an Overnight Direct Care Supervisor for their Needham campus. The successful candidate will supervise the overnight residential staff and the running of the residential program for children with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. The Supervisor will maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residential students during the overnight hours; perform light household responsibilities including light cleaning and laundry. Successful candidates will have previous supervisory experience working in a similar setting. Bachelor's degree preferred. Responsibilities Serve as a leader in a multidisciplinary team to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children at Walker. Oversee the day to day running of an entire unit. Directly supervise staff, including supervision sessions, staff evaluations, training, etc Responsible for oversight and safety of entire residential program when on shift Run weekly meetings with staff Oversee budget of program expenses for residential unit Supervise and provide a therapeutic milieu in assigned residences, including managing the daily schedule and ensuring therapeutic recreational programming occurs. In conjunction with the Program Director, manage the program expense budget for assigned residences. Directly manage the performance of assigned child care staff, including individual and group supervision and staff evaluations Facilitate the overall schedule and structure of assigned residences, including daily, weekly, and monthly. Follow Walkers communication protocols and assist staff in following those protocols. Ensure that administrative functions of assigned residences are properly completed, including oral and written reports, medication administration, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Understand, apply, model, and teach Walkers model of child care, including therapeutic crisis intervention and physical restraint. Provide on-call back-up to residential program as scheduled. Properly attend to administrative functions of supervisory work, including attending, participating, and leading required meetings, completing assigned oral and written report writing tasks; and actively participating in supervision and professional development opportunities offered at Walker. Provide leadership and training to child care staff through mentoring in the milieu and leading formal trainings. Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have previous supervisory experience working in a similar setting. Bachelor's degree preferred.
