About the Role
Support the company's efforts to maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program expectations and applicable regulations. Support and maintain the site's EHS Management System (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) and registrations. This role involves data gathering, analysis, developing recommendations, and educating employees on EHS matters.

Responsibilities
Manage and report EHS data for regulatory documents and metrics.
Maintain EHS management system documents, conduct internal audits, and support related processes.
Support risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor employee exposure to health risks.
Perform industrial hygiene sampling, reporting, and recommendations.
Assist managers and employees with safety and compliance tasks.
Support inspections, enforce policies, and ensure corrective actions.
Support waste management and ensure compliance with RCRA and DOT.
Familiarity with Michigan EGLE and EPA air permit requirements; support related monitoring and reporting.
Support SARA Title III reporting and OSHA Fall Protection compliance.
Maintain stormwater permits and complete required reports.
Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
Review SDS for new materials and support agency inspections.
Support respirator fit testing, safety campaigns, and other EHS duties.
May require short-term travel to other GDLS locations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or certification in an EHS-related field.
Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred.
7+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of laws such as CAA, RCRA, CWA.
RCRA and DOT training certificates.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information and work independently.
Proficiency with office software and systems.
Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent time management skills.
Additional Information / Desired Experience
Work mostly performed in an office environment.
Physical ability to walk, stand, sit, lift up to 25 lbs., and work around hazardous materials.
Must meet GDLS' safety requirements for military vehicle work and travel.
