Security Officer Job
Responsible for maintaining a safe and peaceful environment for all individuals on hospital property. Under general supervision and following standardized policies and procedures, is responsible for maintaining a secure and orderly environment and protection of the grounds and off-site buildings for Corewell Health. This position may require armed security officers to obtain Public Act 330 certification and will be able to arrest for misdemeanors offenses and must complete the Michigan State Police PA 330 certification requirements. Essential functions include patrolling campus on foot and in vehicle, accepting and performing various duties at assigned post, assisting patients, visitors, and employees, enforcing hospital rules, regulations, and policies, and providing statistical safety and security reporting. The position also requires the use of non-violent verbal de-escalation skills, assisting with physical management/restraint of patients, and providing CPR/first aid in medical emergencies. At locations where PA 330 is in place, additional duties include utilizing police authority to arrest, writing citations, and enforcing local city ordinances. Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum of two to three years' law-enforcement related work experience, ability to take charge in emergencies, current Carry Pistol License (CPL) license, successful completion of the specialized Taser Training Course, LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan, CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA, CRT-Automated External Defibrillator (AED), CRT-First Aid - AHA. Preferred: Graduation from a state regulated Police Academy or other experiences related to crowd control and security.
