What You'll Do
Provides leadership in the development, implementation, coordination and support of the District's ECE-12 English Language Acquisition (ELA) curriculum Assists the team with providing best practice models, rubrics, protocols, metrics, competencies, and guidelines Designs and develops courses and toolkits for principals and teachers Collaborates with instructional specialists to plan and deliver professional development for facilitators, teachers, and school administrators Designs, develops, and evaluates elementary ELA-S instructional tools Identifies elementary ELA-S teacher resources and provides coaching Facilitates and/or participates in designated committees, including those related to the selection of instructional materials, methods, programs, and assessments Collaborates with other departments and specialists to promote effective implementation of Response to Intervention for English Language Learner (ELL) Participates in the ELA Program monitoring and evaluation processes
What You'll Need
Bachelor's Degree - Required Master's Degree - Preferred Five (5+) plus years of satisfactory teaching experience - Required Five (5+) plus years of experience in writing curriculum for ELLs - Preferred Five (5+) plus years of Experience in working effectively with adult learners and planning and providing professional development - Preferred Teaching license and record of special courses and /or professional development in ELA development and assessment - Required Knowledge with of Google products including docs, sheets, slides and gmail Effective time management and organizational skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues High degree of integrity in handling confidential information Knowledge of best practices in and ELA and ELA-S instruction and standards-based education Knowledge of effective bilingual instructional programs and methodologies and experience in providing such instruction to meet state standards Commitment to continuous professional learning and maintaining current knowledge of research and trends in field Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish preferred Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
