Overview
The Medicaid/Finance Coordinator role at Infinite Care Consulting Services involves overseeing the financial operations of the facility, focusing on Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, managing accounts receivable, monitoring the facilitys aging report, and ensuring timely issuance of important notices such as Notices of Medicare Non-Coverage and Benefit Exhaust Letters. Key Responsibilities
Medicare/Medicaid Eligibility: Assist residents and their families with the Medicare and Medicaid eligibility application process; track and manage residents' eligibility status and ensure compliance with program requirements; work closely with the Social Services and Admissions teams to gather necessary documentation for timely submission of applications and recertifications; maintain knowledge of current Medicare and Medicaid regulations and guidelines. Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee and manage accounts receivable for the facility, ensuring timely billing and collection of payments from Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers, and residents; review and address aging accounts to ensure prompt collection and minimize outstanding balances; communicate with families, residents, and insurers regarding billing inquiries and outstanding payments. Facility Aging Report: Prepare and monitor the facilitys aging report on a regular basis; identify overdue accounts and initiate appropriate collection actions; provide regular updates to management regarding the status of receivables and aging accounts. Issuance of Financial Notices: Prepare and issue important financial notices to residents and families, including Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage (NOMNC) and Benefit Exhaust Letters; Denial Notices: Informing residents of any denial of services or coverage; ensure timely delivery of notices in compliance with federal and state regulations. Coordination with Billing and Insurance Teams: Work closely with the billing department to ensure accuracy in billing statements and payment collections; coordinate with insurance companies to resolve billing disputes or discrepancies; collaborate with the facilitys administrator and department heads to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with reimbursement rules. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; provide analysis and insights into the facility's financial health, focusing on receivables and eligibility trends; work with auditors during financial reviews and audits to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance with regulations. Resident and Family Communications: Act as a primary point of contact for residents and families regarding financial matters; provide education and assistance to families about Medicare/Medicaid coverage, billing procedures, and payment options; address any concerns related to the financial aspects of resident care. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience. At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare finance or business office setting, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility; strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing procedures and regulations. Skills: Proficiency in financial software and billing systems; excellent organizational and time management skills; strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, and staff; strong analytical skills for financial reporting and accounts receivable management.
