Euclid Ave., Bay City, MI 48706.JOB SUMMARYMust be able to push up transfer beets into a higher pile in an efficient and safe manner as well as place beets directly into the wet hopper at factory slice rate from the transfer slab. Must be able to load transfer trucks in a timely and safe manner at the rate of the factory slice. Must also be able to operate any other piling ground equipment within the Agricultural Department, and perform any other tasks assigned by management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Load in plant transfer trucks with beets from the piling grounds in an efficient and safe manner. Safely and efficiently operate all piling ground equipment. Identify and communicate beet pile priority with management to ensure the oldest, most deteriorated beets go to the factories first. Direct and communicate effectively with transfer truck drivers and Maus truck drivers to ensure areas around the transfer slab operate safely and efficiently, always loading in a priority minded manner. Perform periodic safety, maintenance, or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment. Train and instruct new heavy loader operators on MSC procedures during initial training period. Obtain Heavy Loader License through an approved MSC training source. Perform minor repair work. Respond correctly to signals and directions from other employees and work in coordination with them. Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with truck drivers. Adhere to safety practices, procedures, and work site rules. Maintain records of daily logbooks, etc. Help with necessary agricultural maintenance during slow times. Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Front End Loader License P.I.T. license Valid Driver License Ability to obtain a chauffeur License in 30 days Heavy equipment operation experienceKEY COMPETENCIES Must be able to correctly, safely, and effectively operate all equipment within the Agricultural department. Have the ability to effectively communicate concerns related to heavy loaders and any other concerns to management and other maintenance employees as needed. Must effectively communicate with heavy loader operators, truck drivers, maintenance personnel, general foreman, or supervision when necessary. Heavy equipment operating experience. Will need to attend periodic training classes to update licensing, improve or add to required skills.
