WHO YOU ARE:Under the supervision of the Manager for Evaluation and Support Services of the Office of Blind Services is seeking an individual with experience in shipping and receiving, inventory, and installing software and customizing computer hardware to exacting specifications. You are a self-starting, motivated, team player who understands the value of good attendance, punctuality, reliability, and consistent effort.WHAT YOU WILL DO:The Tech Installation Specialist (Inventory and Store Specialist IV) is the primary individual responsible for the precise installation and configuration of assistive and non-assistive software and hardware in response to service records submitted by TWC Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) field staff on behalf of TWC VRS customers with Visual Disabilities. The technical installation and configuration performed by the Tech Installation Spec IV is multifaceted and time-sensitive with the central objective of assisting customers in maintaining or obtaining employment. Performs highly complex (senior-level) work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO-Process service records promptly.-Prepare appropriate documents to ensure procurement of assistive technology purchases.-Create and maintain complex statistical reports; and provides technical support to field staff regarding technology installation and configuration.-Participate in departmental meetings and provide information related to Customer Technology Services process and procedures, upon request.-Travel occasionally,-Complete agency-required training courses, and-Perform related duties as assignedYOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:- Experience downloading, uploading, and upgrading software on computers- Experience unpacking and packaging equipment, software, and peripherals- Experience shipping and receiving- Experience in warehouse work- Experience tracking inventory- Experience registering software with manufacturersYOU QUALIFY WITH:- Three years of full-time experience in property accounting, retail sales and inventory management.-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
