In this opportunity, the estimator prepares detailed cost estimates for a diverse client base including municipal, government and private clients. Project types include heavy civil and structural projects, dams, hydro facilities, tunnels, waterway/marine construction, treatment facilities, and pipeline conveyance. As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our three market sectors- Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. In roles like Engineers, Technicians, and Skilled Specialists you will be engaged with exciting projects across the globe. From small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects, you will be Building a World of Difference through infrastructure growth and development while learning and focusing on your own individual development. Key responsibilities include leading estimates, cost analysis, and estimate coordination and consolidation. You will perform cost and productivity analysis of estimates based on project scope, crew and equipment resources and regional location and site coordination. You will work with Discipline Estimators as needed to finalize take-offs and estimate consolidation. You will coordinate with design and project teams on project timelines and scope reviews. You will perform comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects and lead cost review meetings and prepare management presentations for approval. You will review designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives where appropriate. You will update and maintain historical cost data and support continuous improvement efforts. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or minimum years of industry experience. Six or more years of heavy civil and structural estimating experience is required. Field and/or project experience is a plus. MCASES (MII) software experience is preferred. Minimum qualifications include six or more years of estimating experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements which may include any/all the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. This position requires sitting, talking, hearing, keyboard input and seeing. Occasional travel up to 25% may be required. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
