Position Title: Cost Accountant
Position Objective: The qualified candidate will be responsible for monthly and annual closing, accounts reconciliation/analysis, preparing tax and audit documentation, accounts payable as assigned, and other special projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, V-lookups, etc.)
Ability to work overtime during month-end and year-end closing
Ability to travel domestically for inventory projects or other assignments
Strong oral and written communication skills
Dependable attendance and flexibility for non-standard work hours
Ability to manage stress and foster productive interactions
Job Responsibilities:
Process material adjustments, inventory adjustments, scrap adjustments, purchase requisitions, and A/R write-offs
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, maintain cost tables and reports, collaborate with the Division Office on budgets
Analyze cost information, investigate variances, reconcile accounts, and work on root cause analysis
Prepare audit documentation, coordinate with auditors, and perform physical inventory counts
Prepare tax documentation, file use and sales taxes, and perform tax research
Process payments, respond to vendor inquiries, and manage inter-company transactions
Work Environment:
Travel to plant sites (2-4 trips expected)
