Position Summary:

The Market Manager is a dynamic, community-focused professional responsible for

leading business development, marketing, girl member and volunteer recruitment, and fund

development strategies within an assigned geographic region. This role builds awareness of and

engagement with the Girl Scout brand through a localized, relationship-driven approach. The Market

Manager is accountable for developing and executing comprehensive recruitment plans, supporting

regional marketing efforts, cultivating community partnerships, and strengthening volunteer

leadership teams to grow and sustain

Girl Scout membership.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Growth & Development

• Design and implement a comprehensive membership recruitment and retention strategy for the

region.

• Partner with internal teams to analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities in

underserved areas.

• Organize and attend community events, school visits, Girl Scout recruitment events and community

fairs to engage prospective members and promote Girl Scouting.

• Support the onboarding, development, and retention of community-based volunteer leaders and

membership teams.

Business Development & Community Engagement

• Serve as the face of the Girl Scouts within the region, cultivating meaningful relationships

with schools, community leaders, faith-based organizations, businesses, and civic groups.

• Identify and secure opportunities to increase Girl Scout visibility through community events,

local partnerships, and outreach campaigns.

Marketing & Communications

• Manage regional marketing efforts, including maintaining and growing regional Facebook and

Instagram accounts with aligned messaging and brand standards.

• Collaborate with the council's marketing team to deploy local campaigns and share regional

success stories.

• Monitor and analyze regional social media engagement to guide strategy.

Fund Development & Relationship Building

• Develop local relationships to support council-wide fund development goals; identify

sponsorship, in-kind donation, and partnership opportunities.

• Represent the council at community and donor events to strengthen Girl Scout visibility and

fundraising potential.

Volunteer Recruitment & Support

• Recruit and support community-based volunteer teams that serve as local champions for Girl

Scouting.

• Provide coaching, tools, and resources to help volunteers succeed in delivering Girl Scout

experiences.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise and mentor local recruitment specialists or seasonal staff, where applicable.

• Represent the region in council-wide strategy discussions, sharing insights and best

practices.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, nonprofit management, business, or

related field

• 3+ years of experience in community development, business development, or relationship-based

sales

• Demonstrated success managing social media platforms professionally (Facebook,

Instagram)

• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines

• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills

• Residence in and strong ties to the assigned market/region

• Culturally competent with experience working in diverse communities.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends

• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for regional travel

• A designated, home-based private workspace free from distractions and suitable for conducting

confidential and uninterrupted work.

• Reliable high-speed internet access, with a minimum of cable broadband connection (DSL,

satellite, or mobile hotspots are not sufficient for job duties).

Preferred:

• Experience working with volunteers or in a membership-based organization

• Knowledge of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience or familiarity with youth development

organizations

Salary Description

$50,000-55,000/yr
