The Contract Specialist at FairWind, Inc. is a key contributor to the success of our wind energy projects across North America. This role is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide variety of commercial agreements that support installation, commissioning, service, and operational activities. The Contract Specialist ensures compliance with contractual requirements, manages risk, and provides cross-functional support to FairWind teams throughout the project lifecyclefrom planning and mobilization through execution and closeout. Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including: Subcontractor agreements Master Service Agreements (MSAs) NDAs and vendor contracts Project-specific installation, commissioning, and service agreements

Provide contractual support to operations, procurement, and project execution teams to align with FairWind objectives and risk tolerance. Partner with finance, legal, and project management teams to ensure commercial and technical terms are met. Identify and mitigate contractual risks; provide strategic recommendations to management. Ensure compliance with FairWind policies, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations. Support contract amendments, closeouts, and dispute resolution efforts. Assist with large bids, tenders, and RFP responses during peak workload periods. Manage and support vendor/supplier compliance through platforms such as Avetta, ISNetworld, Ariba, and similar systems.

Working Conditions

Hybrid work setup with flexibility for remote work. Occasional travel to FairWind offices, project sites, or vendor locations.

Requirements

Required: Bachelors degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field. 25+ years of experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial rolesideally in renewable energy, construction, or industrial services. Strong knowledge of U.S. contract law and commercial practices. Familiarity with wind energy project agreements (installation, commissioning, service, and O&M). Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems.

Preferred:

Experience supporting large-scale wind projects or renewable infrastructure. Knowledge of industry-specific frameworks and customer compliance requirements. Certifications such as NCMA CPCM or paralegal/legal background. Experience with cross-border or international contracts.
