Aircraft Tech A - Maintenance (Contract)

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Aircraft Tech A - Maintenance (Contract) to join our Material and Support Services Team based in Columbus, MS. Performs schedule and non-scheduled maintenance on UH-72A Lakota helicopters and other airframes as required. Conducts operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems. Diagnoses malfunctions or failures and makes adjustments, repairs or replacements of parts and/or components. This is a contract position. Your challenges: Aircraft Inspections

70% Performs detailed inspections, assembly, installation, repair, replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts and components. Conducts operational checks of complete systems to verify proper functioning of components and systems. Compliance

20% Assures that completed work complies with FAA/Airbus regulations, customer requirements, and company specifications. Follows all OSHA, safety and environmental regulations. Completes forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work. System Troubleshooting

10% Performs troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions or failures on the following aircraft systems: aircraft equipment furnishings, fire protection, fuel system, hydraulics, landing gear, doors, fuselage, stabilizer, rotor systems, power plant and engine controls. Required High School diploma or equivalent Preferred Trade school Experience

Required Minimum of four (4) years related experience. Preferred EC145, H145 or UH-72 Experience Licensure/Certifications

Required: Preferred FAA A&P License EC145 Field Maintenance Course Safran Level 1 or Level 2 Completion Travel Required

5% Domestic and International Citizenship

US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license) Clearance

Level of Decision Making: This position has safety sensitive decisions on a daily basis. It also requires decisions that affect the delivery and quality of aircraft. 95% Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Hearing

able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking

able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation

able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying

able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting

able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 60lbs/27kgs. Pushing / Pulling

able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting

able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Squatting / Kneeling

able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing

able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Travel

able to travel independently and at short notice. 5% Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
