Site Surveyor
Aerotek is seeking a site surveyor for a construction project outside of Memphis, TN. This will be a short term contract approximately 30 days in length or until project is completed. Daily per diem is available for the position. Candidate must have previous experience using Trimble surveying equipment. As a Survey Assistant, you will be responsible for collecting field data using sophisticated measuring equipment and collaborating with the project team to understand construction sequences. You will apply GPS equipment to set lath for construction, including centers and offsets, while field fitting miscellaneous items. Responsibilities: Operate survey instruments to capture static measurements for various disciplines with verified horizontal and vertical residuals from client-provided benchmarks. Perform calculations to determine accurate elevations, distances, and angles for construction projects. Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches. Verify horizontal and vertical residuals daily using client-provided benchmarks. Search for section corners, property states, and survey points. Position and hold vertical rods or targets for sighting to measure angles, distances, and elevations. Maintain and troubleshoot GPS equipment as directed by the Survey Equipment team. Ensure equipment and tools are clean, properly powered down, and stored at the end of the business day. Safely operate field tools and supplies to minimize the risk of injury and property damage. Foster effective communication between surveying teams, engineering teams, and project management. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to integrate survey data into project plans. Provide regular updates on surveying progress, challenges, and solutions to site and office management. Work independently and as an active member of the team. Attend daily Plan of Day meetings (POD). Stakeout Electrical Trench Lines. Perform As-Built Surveys on Electrical MV/DC Cables installed. Conduct Basin As-Built surveys. Execute rolling topo surveys for Array Block grading using UTV. Install GCPs and perform Lidar verification points for UAS Surveys. Stakeout Pile Plot Plan locations for individual piles when necessary. Stakeout locations on installed electrical cable for 'strike avoidance'. Other duties as assigned.
