This is a comprehensive and dynamic role in the field of medical imaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing x-ray scans to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. This individual must be able to execute radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, provide consultation advice to patients and radiology professionals, and deliver patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of the organization. Adequately position radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast to assist with diagnosis and treatment. Explain radiographic procedure to the patient, obtain complete and accurate history relevant to the examination being performed. Communicate effectively with the patient. Provide staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/aprons in order to limit radiation exposure. Implement and monitor local, state and national regulations, standards, requirements and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services. Maintain x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and document results. Maintain and update patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handle patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality. Perform other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control. Responsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job positions. Requirements: Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program or current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) preferred. CPR Certification is required. Competencies: Knowledge of RIS systems. Knowledge of PACS systems.
