The selected candidate will be a part of the SMS Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team supporting and executing the export licenses and agreements of international activities in concert with company policies and customer requirements with guidance from the SMS Sr. Manager. Position requires knowledge of the ITAR and EAR laws and regulations.
What You'll Do: Interpret and communicate export regulations and export strategies to the program team and management. Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with internal and external customers. Be responsible for preparing and administering ITAR and EAR license applications, technical assistance agreements, exemptions, and exceptions. Ensures compliance with approved authorizations. Coordinate Exports and Imports in accordance with BAE Systems policy and U.S. Government export laws and regulations. Coordinate with program personnel to obtain export/import application information, reviews provisos/riders on licenses and agreements to ensure business and customer requirements can be met by the license or agreement. Continued license and agreement management. Ensure that positive provisos/riders are address. Approve foreign travel and foreign visitors. Participate in the investigation of any aspect of proposed export or temporary export by the Company to verify the legality of any transactions and the accuracy of the information to be submitted. Participate in the development and presentation of export-related training materials. Provide BAE Systems GTC with any required assistance or information needed during the review of license application. Maintain export-related recordkeeping functions for the Company as required by law. Participate in conducting internal compliance audits on a periodic basis. Maintain export licensing records in EMS (OCR EASE) and/or other databases used for storing and tracking BAE Systems export licensing history and other reviews/approvals. When requested, prepare and distribute periodic reports on licensing status for use by Company personnel. Support the Sr. Manager in addressing and resolving export issues as they arise. Position to include air travel to various export conferences and required training. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days
each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 6 or more years related experience. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. Experience with International trade compliance, Import & Export. Individual must have solid knowledge of the current Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicant must be detail oriented, have good writing skills, and have good organization/communication skills. #LI-LO1 A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
