This person primarily will work in our Dunwoody, GA clinic and will be responsible for supporting the physician with a range of clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities will vary, and candidates must be flexible problem solvers and collaborative team players who are eager to learn and tackle problems. Ideal candidates will have podiatry or orthopedic experience and x-ray experience.Medical Assistant Responsibilities:Place patients in exam rooms; ensuring that they are ready and comfortable for their appointment with the physicianComplete exam intake, including but not limited to; reviewing medical history, social history, surgical history, and the history of present illnessComplete vitals and required documentation in clinic EMR (athenahealth)Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including taking x-rays and assisting in the exam room as requiredPerform daily administrative tasks such as re-stocking exam rooms and disposing of exam room trashResponsible for cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms both after each patient visit and at the end of each dayEquipment sterilizationConduct health assessments and complete visits with Upperline Plus patientsTelephonic outreach and engagement with Upperline Plus patients to coordinate ongoing preventative careCare coordination activities including, but not limited to; medical records requests, order management, appointment scheduling, managing patient care referrals, etcTravel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if neededOther related duties as deemed necessary by Upperline HealthMedical Assistant Qualifications:Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferredPodiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferredX-ray experience is a plusClinical care coordination or care management experience is idealPrevious experience assisting or providing care to the geriatric patient population is preferredExcellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminologyPrevious experience working in an EMR; preferably athenahealthMust be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skillsExceptional customer service highly preferredReliable transportation is requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:Day-to-day work includes desk computer work and direct patient interaction, facility staff and physiciansPosition may have extended periods of standing and to lift more than 5 lbsThe work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levelCompensation:Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience Job Type: Full-time Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
